RANDOM SHOTS: Bintana sa Paraiso, 2 perfect resorts for your Camiguin getaway

BINTANA SA PARAISO which literally translates to Window of Paradise has two equally excellent boutique resorts in Camiguin where you can have some privacy with your loved one or simply a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Bintana sa Paraiso in Naasag in Mambajao started in 2017 and is conveniently located on the northwest portion of the island along Camiguin Circumferential Road (see map) facing Bohol Sea.

The Naasag resort is patterned after the famed Santorini resorts in Greece with its blue and white concept. Each private villa room has its own infinity pool perfect for your IG account. RANDOM SHOTS: Iniktinan Trail in Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental

The Municipality of Magsaysay is Misamis Oriental’s last town bordering the province of Agusan del Norte. And one of its scenic spots is Iniktinan Trail as shown in the photo.

The trail is part of a mountain pass leading to Pag-asa Peak in Barangay Pag-asa, Magsaysay town.

Along the trail, you can have a picturesque view of Gingoog Bay as shown in the background below.

And this weekend, the town of Magsaysay will hold SUBIDA ALANG SA TROPA, CLIMB FOR A CAUSE exploring the scenery atop Pag-asa Peak thru Iniktinan Trail. The 2-day event minor climb, trek and overnight camping starts tomorrow, January 19 and ends (descent) on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Registration Fee is P300.00.

Day 1
9:00-12NOON – Registration and Assembly area at Poblacion, Magsaysay covered court. 
1:00 PM – ETA Jump off @Kimaya, Brgy. Consuelo

3:00 PM- ETA mangga view (picture para naay remembrance)
4:00 PM – Baklay napod paingon sa Kakasuyan nga walay bunga
5:00 PM – Baklay via Iniktinan Trail
7:00 PM – ETA campsite (etul-id ang inyong balay, pero kung maguba ka, luag kaayo para mag sleep out.)
8:30 PM – Andam para panihapon (manuroy ang mga boy kutsara)
9:30 PM – E-enjoy ang view, sabay sa mga participants (amping kay naay natulog) 
11:00 PM – Lights Off. 

Day 2
5:00 AM – Wake up call (Pagluto sa pamahaw, ug ganahan paka mamahaw and wait for sunrise og mo rise ang sun

7:30 AM – Start Trek to Pag-Asa Falls
9:30-12NN- Pag-Asa Falls (Lunch)

Proceeds of the event will go to Mrs. Curlette Montero, who is suffering from Kidney Chronic Disease, a type of kidney disease in which there is gradual loss of kidney function over a period of months or years.

RANDOM SHOTS: Rural Transit’s new luxury bus fleet

It’s a new year and once again, Rural Transit Mindanao, Inc. (RTMI) will soon roll out its new fleet of luxury buses serving Cagayan de Oro-Davao (via BUDA), Davao-Butuan and Cagayan de Oro-Butuan routes.

As shown below (photos courtesy of Jez Taray), the new fleet is composed of King Long XMQ6128AYW Luxury Bus with comfortable seats with built-in tabs, luggage rack with cover, and on-board toilet for comfort and convenience travel.

Seven Seas Waterpark to undergo month-long maintenance

Seven Seas Waterpark & Resort located at Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental will be temporarily closed beginning tomorrow, January 22, 2019 for a month-long maintenance and refurbishment.

In an announcement, the famed pirate-themed waterpark will be re-opening by the third week of February, just in time before the start of summer.

Camiguin trips resume today as Signal No. 1 lifted

Good news for travelers to and from Camiguin. Ferry trips between Balingoan and Benoni have resumed today, January 21 after PAG-ASA lifted the storm warning signal in Camiguin in relation to Tropical Depression ‘Amang’.

As posted in Facebook, trips have resumed at 7:00AM today.

Laguindingan Airport gets $250 M funding – Gov. Emano

Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente ‘Bambi’ Emano has confirmed that Laguindingan Airport will get $250 million from the Korean Government for the necessary improvement works for it to cater to international flights.

Accordingly, the funding will pass thru the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) and the Provincial Planning and Development Office is now preparing for it. Read more details at Superbalita Cagayan de Oro in the link below.

RANDOM SHOTS: RTMI’s latest luxury buses launched; to serve CDO-Davao route

The new King Long Luxury buses of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) have arrived and will soon start serving the Cagayan de Oro-Davao route.

The said buses were recently inspected by officials of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) led by Regional Director Allan Guro. The latest bus units have 37 luxury reclining passenger seats, LCD monitor, USB port, folding table with cup holder, leg rest, middle arm rest, foot pedal, luggage rack with cover, reading lamp, aluminum passenger and luggage compartment, on-board toilet, GPS, and CCTV.

Cokaliong to launch “M/V Filipinas Cagayan de Oro” to serve Cebu-CDO, CDO-Jagna routes; maiden voyage set February 2

Cokaliong Shipping Lines Inc. is adding another vessel to serve the Cebu-Cagayan de Oro and Cagayan de Oro-Jagna routes. M/V FILIPINAS CAGAYAN DE ORO will have its maiden voyage on February 2, 2019.

As shown below, the ship departs Cebu for Cagayan de Oro every Saturday night and sails back to Cebu every Monday night. Weekdays are served by M/V Filipinas Jagna, Cokaliong’s inaugural ship plying the route.

It will also serve the Cagayan de Oro – Jagna route departing Cagayan de Oro every Sunday noon.

RANDOM SHOTS: Revisiting Tangub City’s Belvedere – a park above the clouds

On a cool day, Tangub City’s Belvedere, a viewing deck feature of the master planned Gardens of the World development is literally above the clouds.

As shown in the photos below, visitors can glance over the cloud formations near the Mt. Malindang Range Natural Park in Barangay Hoyohoy and enjoy the unique breath-taking view.

RANDOM SHOTS: Cokaliong launches M/V Filipinas Cagayan de Oro

Cokaliong Shipping Lines Inc. formally launched yesterday , M/V Filipinas Cagayan de Oro, its 13th passenger vessel which will ply the Cebu-Cagayan de Oro route.

As clarified, the roll-on roll-off (roro) vessel which can carry 631 passengers will replace M/V Filipinas Jagna which will undergo mandatory drydocking.

As we’ve posted yesterday (see below), it will have its maiden voyage on February 2.

VIDEO WATCH: Claveria View Deck aerial progress update as of January 2019

The View Deck at Lanise, Claveria, Misamis Oriental offering a panoramic view of the Balatukan Mountain Range is now almost done.

Located along Route 955 or the Gingoog-Claveria-Villanueva Road, it is a perfect respite for travelers while experiencing a scenic view of Mt. Balatukan, an inactive stratovolcano (according to Phivolcs) which is the province’s highest point at 2,450 meters (8,040 feet) above sea level. The view deck is at 2,945 feet above sea level. You may have noticed the flower-shaped ongoing landscaping in the area.

The view deck is a project of the municipal government of Claveria to promote tourism in the area. With its proximity to Route 955 where more motorists are now using, the tourism potential is high.

Here are closer shots of the ongoing landscaping at Claveria View Deck in Barangay Lanise, Claveria, Misamis Oriental.

As shown in photos below (courtesy of LGU Claveria), the large letters spelling “VIEW DECK” are already done which makes it a perfect backdrop for photoshoots and selfies aside from the panoramic view of the mountain range.

The newly arrived King Long luxury buses of Bachelor Express are now also serving the Cagayan de Oro – Butuan route (Non-Stop).

Similar to Rural Transit, the new world-class fully air-conditioned buses also has reclining passenger seats, LCD monitor, tablets, USB port, folding table with cup holder, leg rest, middle arm rest, foot pedal, luggage rack with cover, reading lamp, aluminum passenger and luggage compartment, on-board toilet, GPS, and CCTV. Talisayan in Misamis Oriental is a small fishing town on the northeast coast of the province. Its most notable natural landmark is Sipaca Point, a major navigational hill visible from afar.

If you’re traveling between Camiguin and Balingoan, you won’t miss the hill. Talisayan is also popular with its seaside eateries which serve fresh seafood. Laguindingan Airport gets On-Time-Performance star rating from UK travel firm

Laguindingan Airport, together with eight other airports in the country earned On-Time Performance (OTP) star ratings from the Official Aviation Guide (OAG), an air travel intelligence company based in the United Kingdom, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced last Thrusday.

Accordingly, the two criteria, are that all airlines and airports must have a minimum of 600 operations a month (minimum of 2.5 million departed seats), and OAG must receive flight status information for no less than 80 percent of scheduled flights within a 12-month period. Laguindingan (Cagayan de Oro) got 67.4 points to earn 1-star rating. See screenshot below (from www.oag.com)

‘Hobbit House’ at Amaya View to open soon

There’s a new attraction at Amaya View, Cagayan de Oro’s hilltop tourist destination located in Indahag Hills. The so-called HOBBIT HOUSE near Noah’s Ark will open soon.

As shown below (photos courtesy of Melton Builders), you can see a much modern hobbit house with its entrance characterized by geometrical shapes. The semi-circle entrance of the original hobbit house is still very much evident but with a modern twist. So what’s inside the ‘Hobbit House’? It’s for you to find out.
